Do you know your T-shirts are Bio-washed or Not !! You may be thinking, what is it ?? Because sometimes I just end up with this question, as many people or customers are not aware of the term Bio-wash.Okay, so let’s talk about it in detail now.
What is biowash –
Biowash is a term that is used in garment industry specially in hoisery manufaturing . biowash is a type of cleaning of fabric or process or enzyme treatment .it can be done only on cotton fabric or fabric which comes from plant based fiber or cellulose . It is essential process for cotton fabric when we think about clean and hygenic fabric .This process remove peeling and hairness from fabric and make the Fabric soft and smooth. It solve peeling and hairness issue from fabric
Process-
In this process we keep fabric in a chemical based solution or enzym based solution . this chemical acts upon fabric and put pressure on fabric . this process mainly focused on removing peeling and hairness from fabric so the small fibers , weak fibers, and peeling and hairy things, other dust particles break down by pressure
Advantage of biowash –
1.This process break down the peeling, hairness, small unwanted fibers from fabric surface
2.this process makes fabric quality better
3.it increase the printing quality also it means when we do printing on non biowash fabric it doesn’t give good result as compare to biowashed fabric because there is peeling and hairness available on non biowashed fabric surface so it affect on printing process
4.it makes fabric soft and smooth and slightly shiny feeling
Draw backs of biowash-
1.it increase the costing of fabric when we do biowash on fabric it require extra staff , extra setup for process and extra chemical matrial to process it so it increase the cost of fabric and increase the final product cost also
2.it makes fabric little thinner as compare to non biowashed fabric before biowashed process when we touch the fabric and after the completation of process when we touch the fabric it feels little thinner .it happens because before process peeling, hairness, small unwanted fibers was there but after the process all those peeling and hairness parts removed from fabric so it become thinner or lightlyer
3.it require more time to process
How we come To check the real biowash tshirt and non Biowash tshirt-
When we touch the biowash tshirt or fabric surface its feel like smooth , soft, no any peeling or hairness available on fabric surface fully neat and clean surface and in other hand when we touch non biowash tshirt it feels like some peeling or small fibers are there and coming out from fabricIt can be be visible easily on fabric surface
